Phonak Tinnitus Management
Phonak Tinnitus Management Portfolio
Tinnitus is a condition that affects approximately 15% of the adult population. The goal of the majority of tinnitus management philosophies is to make the condition less intrusive and less distressing. In some cases education and counseling is combined with amplification or additional sound enrichment.
The Phonak Tinnitus Balance Portfolio is flexible enough to fit into any of the most commonly used sound enrichment approaches for tinnitus management:
- Tinnitus Masking
- Tinnitus Retraining Therapy
- Progressive Tinnitus Management
Phonak Audéo Q
The link between tinnitus and hearing loss is strong, with four out of five tinnitus clients also experiencing hearing loss. In many cases tinnitus can be managed simply by fitting hearing aids.
That is why Phonak provides the Tinnitus Balance Portfolio with Audeo Q at its core.
It is an appealing RIC hearing aid offering discreet design and a variety of colors. In addition to the outstanding Quest feature set with Binaural VoiceStream Technology™, the Tinnitus Balance noise generator is a feature in every Phonak Audeo Q:.
Tinnitus Balance noise generator
A broadband sound generator that is designed to be flexible enough to adapt to whichever tinnitus management approach is followed in the practice.
The use of broadband sound is common in tinnitus management either in the context of masking or sound therapy such as Tinnitus Retraining Therapy.
The Tinnitus Balance App
A smartphone application that can be used in conjunction with PTM (Progressive Tinnitus Management), gives you access to your customized sound plan to manage your tinnitus.
A sound plan includes three types of sound:
- Soothing: inducing a sense of relief from the tension caused by tinnitus
- Background: reducing the awareness of tinnitus
- Interesting: active attention diversion away from the tinnitus
Sounds can be selected from your personal smartphone music library or a list of default sounds included with the App.
